Visiting Teaching Message
by: Kandice Morgan

While singing "As Sisters in Zion" in Relief Society on Sunday, I was gently reminded of the wonderful blessings that come from my membership in Relief Society. Too often we forget that we are indeed sisters in our Heavenly Father's family, and in doing so, forget our God-given connection with each other. We all have things that come easy to us, and other things that are challenges, but it is through these differences that we can come together to learn from each other and support each other. One of the simplest ways to do this is through our monthly visiting teaching. This divinely inspired program was created for us to come together to build new friendships, learn from one another, learn how to serve and how to love, and receive a multitude of blessings if we will fulfill our call as visiting teachers. You don't have to make a cute handout or make yummy treats to be a "good" visiting teacher. All you have to do is show you care. It is as simple as a visit or a note, and sometimes even a phone call. You never know when you are the answer to someone's prayer.

As sisters in Zion, we'll all work together:
The blessings of God on our labors we'll seek.
We'll build up his kingdom with earnest endeavor;
We'll comfort the weary and strengthen the weak.
The errand of angels is given to women;
And this is a gift that, as sisters, we claim;
To do whatsoever is gentle and human,
To cheer and to bless in humanity's name.
How vast is our purpose, how broad is our mission,
If we but fulfill it in spirit and deed.
Oh, naught but the Spirit's divinest tuition
Can give us the wisdom to truly succeed.
